Sjoerd DragtsmaSjoerd's yoga classes are influenced by his shamanic path and thus an emphasis is put on the meditative and healing aspect. The sacred Amazone ceremonies gave him many glimpses about what it means to be a human being. He will share with you Meditation, Hatha Yoga, Live Music, and Breathwork.

Silence in the form of meditation will play an important role during this retreat because we feel that there is no better teacher.
It will reveal everything you are ready for. Sometimes in a more fierce way and sometimes in a gentle way. Of course there will also be plenty of time for sharing our insights, releasing build up energy and enjoying the cosiness of each other’s company. This is also a time to celebrate the sacredness we are surrounded by in any moment. Remembering that we are not separate from Mother Earth, the infinity of the Cosmos and the company of our neighbour. If we are only willing to see beyond our stories and believe systems. We are Life. It’s an opportunity to look and feel the ‘unlived ’ and challenging parts of ourselves with loving awareness. To take the space to recognise these parts have a voice and to actually listen to them, breathe with them and to eventually digest these energies. Not because those energies are negative or unspiritual but because they are no longer serving our current state of being. |
If we want to live our full potential we might just have to say ‘Yes’ to whatever feeling, emotion, or sensation comes our way. Of course to the good and yummy stuff, but also welcoming the stuff that seems painful at first.
This retreat is a ‘YES’ to Life, a ‘YES’ to our wounds and pains, a full ‘YES’ to participating in the dynamics of our sometimes sticky demanding daily business. Lets no longer postpone and wait for the stars to be exactly right. The stars are always perfectly in alignment and inviting you constantly to connect to what’s here in the present moment. CommunityFor little less then a week we will be living in our own spiritual community, so next to a personal proces this is also a group proces. Which is a real potent proces because the ‘other’ is constantly mirroring our own energy. All rooms will be shared for that reason. Slowly we can step out of the ‘safety zone’ of our so high valued privacy and move into something which is unknown, new, fresh and relational. Sharing circleEvery now and then we will have a sharing circle. Sharing means that we come together in a group in which everyone has a chance to share how he or she feels in the moment. The fact that the listeners are simply present and do not respond with the mind, but simply listen from the heart, is very nourishing since we are allowed to be and experience exactly who we are and what we are feeling. Being together in a space of loving presence is very healing for the abandoned, suppressed or hurt parts within us and helps to give these parts a voice. We will deeper connect with ourselves in these sharing-circles and at the same time will feel more sense of belonging and connection in the group |
Noble silenceBesides the meditation, yoga, and breathwork sessions we offer another opportunity to deepen our self knowledge by being in noble silence in the mornings. Noble silence means that we give ourselves and each other the great gift to rest our attention within by restraining from any form of communication. That includes verbal- and nonverbal communication as well reading, writing or any activity on your digital devices. When we are in noble silence a couple of hours a day, several important things will be revealed; such as we often use communication as an escape-route to avoid feeling what's inside. When we start to feel uncomfortable, restless or emotional, our conditioned reflex is to either suppress what we feel or to find some form of distraction. Also, the experience of mere silence or simply 'being' is oftentimes associated with boredom or anxiety and covered up by the mind's chattering inwardly or outwardly. |
